EXPIRED: Answers must be hand written and in your own words. The EPA is evaluating the safety of the most commonly used organophosphate insecticides (organic copounds containing phosphate groups). Organophosphates typically interfere with ner transmission by inhibiting the enzymes that degrade transmitter molecules diffusing from one neuron to another. Noxious insects are not uniquely susceptible; humans and other vertebrates can be affected as well. Thus, the use of organophosphate pesticides creates some health risks. As a consumer, what level of risk are you willing to accept in exchange for an abundant and affordable food supply?

Make a three dimensional model of a molecule. Use your project sheet or homework packet for some examples of molecules. Your model should show the three dimensional shape of the molecule. Also, you molecule should be sturdy and made of NON-food materials that will last. See me for extra help on this if you'd like to.
